Jesus, addressing his disciples, declared 'I shall build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it' (Matthew 16:1). It is such a privilege to be part of a kingdom that isn't shaken by the winds of political pressure, but is growing daily. In the face of a tense political climate and economic pressure it would be so tempting to slow down, cut back and put up the shutters. But God calls us to advance.
In this issue of eConnect, we have two opportunities to hear how God’s kingdom is advancing in spite of current pressures, with a report and videos from our recent Remember the Poor conference, as well as an exciting interview with David Capener, who has recently moved to Belfast to build a church in the city centre. As you read it, let your heart be stirred, your mind stretched and your faith rejuvenated. God is doing great things, and it is a joy to be a part of it.
